Privacy policy

Daywright is a personal planning app developed by Jason Grant. It keeps your tasks on your iPhone or iPad and helps you plan around calendars you choose. You do not create a separate Daywright account.

Tasks, settings and shared drafts

Task titles, notes, schedules, progress and other details you enter are stored locally using iOS file protection. App preferences are also stored on your device. Daywright does not sync your task list or operate a task account. Optional private to-do and shift links store an encrypted copy of only the details you choose to send, as described below.

Text and links you explicitly share into Daywright are saved as drafts in protected storage shared by the app and its capture extension. You review a draft before saving it as a task. Depending on your device backup settings, task and draft data may be included in your backups.

Calendars on your device

With your permission, Daywright reads calendars available through iOS or iPadOS so it can display commitments and find time for tasks. Although iOS calls this permission “full access,” Daywright does not create, change or delete source calendar events. Task placements remain in Daywright. The calendar accounts connected through iOS continue to follow their providers’ own privacy practices.

URLs in notes

URLs pasted or shared into a task remain text in Notes. Daywright does not fetch those pages. Sharing or pasting a URL does not request your device’s location.

Places and Nearby reminders

If you add a place to a task, its name, address, and coordinates are stored with that task on your device. With Daywright Plus, you can optionally ask for a Nearby arrival reminder. Daywright gives the selected coordinates and reminder condition to iOS for on-device location monitoring; it does not upload your live location or location history to the Daywright link service. Location permission is requested only when needed for this optional behavior. Including a place in a private to-do link is a separate explicit choice.

Place search sends your search text to Apple Maps only when you submit a search. You can enter coordinates manually instead. With location permission, Nearby uses a current coordinate temporarily in memory to find saved to-dos; it does not write that coordinate into your task database or build a location history. Apple controls location and reminder delivery.

Widgets and Live Activities

Daywright’s Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets use a protected, backup-excluded display snapshot in the app’s shared container. It can include task titles, scheduled times and estimates; it does not include task notes or calendar events. Widget task titles are shown by default. You can replace them with “Private task” in Settings; times and estimates remain visible. The system controls widget refresh timing.

A Live Activity starts only when you choose Show Live Activity during a scheduled task. It can display the scheduled time and countdown on the Lock Screen, Dynamic Island and other Apple surfaces. Task titles are hidden by default and appear only if you enable them. Live Activities do not include notes or calendar events.

Siri and Shortcuts

When you run a Daywright action through Siri or Shortcuts, the information you provide and the task or calendar details returned by the action are made available to Apple’s Siri or Shortcuts and may be shown or spoken. Add a to-do accepts a title, estimate, optional deadline and notes and saves immediately by default. Turn on Review before adding to open a draft and save only after tapping Add.

Find something to do returns fitting task titles, times and estimates without scheduling them. Show today returns task details and, by default, event titles and times from included calendars; you can turn calendar-event inclusion off. Apple’s Siri settings, privacy policy and later actions in your shortcut govern how returned information is handled. Daywright does not index task content for system search. These actions require an unlocked device.

Quick Controls

On iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 or later, Daywright Quick Controls pass only the chosen destination and, for Free now, a duration into the app. They require local-device authentication and do not add or schedule a task until you act inside Daywright.

Subscriptions

Apple processes subscriptions and payments. Daywright uses Apple’s StoreKit information, including product, transaction, expiration and subscription-status information, to determine access and restore purchases. Daywright does not receive your payment-card details. Apple may make sales and subscription reports available to the developer. Apple’s handling of purchases and account information is described in Apple’s privacy policy.

Subscription expiry does not automatically delete your saved tasks, history, advanced fields, link records, or drafts. Daywright Free continues to support up to five active personally created to-dos, basic edits, completion and deletion, manual schedules, ordinary repeats and reminders, manual shifts, reviewed capture, Siri Add/Show today, Quick Add, widgets, receiving copies, and stopping existing links. Completed to-dos, received copies, and generated repeat occurrences do not count toward the allowance. Existing work remains usable if expiry or recurrence leaves more than five active personal to-dos; only a new active personal addition is blocked. Plus is required for time-fit suggestions, structured progress and waiting inputs, Nearby reminders, work automation and pay inputs, private-link sending/copying, and Live Activities.

Work records and pay display

Shifts, rates, overtime settings, estimates and payments are stored on this device. Show pay on Daywright Home is off by default. Hide pay amounts is an optional visual mask: tapping reveals amounts for the current session, and leaving the app hides them again. It does not authenticate a person or encrypt records separately. Widget pay remains redacted when Hide pay amounts is enabled, even while in-app amounts are revealed.

Notifications, diagnostics and support

If enabled, task reminders are scheduled locally through iOS. Their text does not include task or calendar names. Daywright includes no advertising or third-party analytics SDK and does not track you across apps or websites.

Apple may provide diagnostics according to your Apple sharing settings. For beta versions, TestFlight also handles diagnostics and feedback. If you send support email or beta feedback, the developer receives the message and any attachments you choose to include. Avoid sending private calendar, task or contact information that is unnecessary for the request. Support information is used to respond and troubleshoot; it is not used for marketing or sold.

Your choices and retention

Older next-step and repeat-step text and website URLs move into Notes. Retired list, requirement, person, phone-number, legacy address and phone-only fields are no longer used and are removed from the local task file on its next successful save. The current saved Place field is separate. Merely opening without a successful save does not rewrite those older fields.

You can choose included device calendars and manage iOS permissions in Settings. Calendar accounts are managed through device Settings; Daywright does not provide direct Google sign-in in this build. Local task content remains until removed with available app controls or by deleting the app’s data through iOS. Offloading an app can preserve its data. Removing the app does not cancel an Apple subscription or necessarily remove older device backups; manage those separately with Apple.

The developer cannot remotely read, export or erase tasks stored only on your device. For support correspondence or other information you sent directly, contact the address below to request access or deletion. Correspondence is kept only as needed to handle the request, retain a necessary support record or meet applicable legal obligations.

Task sync and older cloud records

Build 56 does not include iCloud task sync. Each device keeps its own task and Work stores. Device backups are separate. Updating or removing this app does not establish deletion of any backups or cloud records previously created by another release; manage Apple storage separately.

Apple Watch

Build 56 does not include an Apple Watch companion and does not send a Watch snapshot.

Earlier direct Google connections

This build does not provide direct Google sign-in or access earlier direct-provider caches. Google calendars connected through device Settings remain governed by that provider and Apple. An update does not prove older Keychain credentials or caches were erased. Revoke an earlier connection through your Google Account if needed; do not send credentials to support.

This policy page uses no analytics scripts, advertising or tracking cookies. Its hosting provider necessarily receives ordinary web-request information, such as your IP address, browser information and request time, to deliver and protect the page. Visiting the page does not transmit your Daywright task or calendar content.

Changes and contact

This page will be updated when Daywright’s privacy practices change. Material changes to data access or use will also be explained in the app where appropriate, with consent requested when required.
